Fourth of July Events in Memphis

This 4th of July will hopefully provide a nice mid-week break from the Memphis heat and long summer days. Every year the 4th of July seems to come at the perfect time to relax and count the many blessings the United States of America provides for its citizens. Our main wish for our readers is that they have a wonderful 4th of July, while doing so in a safe and responsible manner.


Fourth of July fireworks shows are taking place all over the Mid-South in the coming days. From downtown to DeSoto County, there’s an event taking place near you.

Memphis Redbirds 4th of July Celebration

AutoZone Park, July 4 @ 6:35 p.m.

Looking for a family-friendly event in downtown Memphis this Fourth of July? Head to Autozone Park to watch the Redbirds take on the Omaha Storm Chasers and enjoy a fireworks show, jersey auction, and special cookout with an all-you-can-eat burgers and hot dogs buffet.

Mud Island River Park 4th of July Celebration

AutoZone Park, July 4 @ 6:00 p.m.

Nothing says summer like an Independence Day celebration with rides, live music, and concessions. Head to Mud Island and enjoy the fun. Take advantage of the $20/hour kayak and canoe rentals.

City of Olive Branch Independence Day Celebration

City of Olive Branch Park, July 4 @ 6:00 p.m. • Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

The City of Olive Branch hosts an annual Independence Day Celebration and fireworks show that is one of the largest in the Memphis metro area. Enjoy games, concessions, and family-friendly fun from 6:00 p.m. until the fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Germantown Fireworks Extravaganza

Municipal Park, July 4 @ 5:00 p.m. • Fireworks at 9:00 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of kid-friendly activities and entertainment, including festival games, concessions, music, and more. Enjoy an impressive fireworks show around 9:00 p.m.


There are many safe and convenient places to celebrate the 4th of July in Memphis. There is no shortage of events this year. There are several parades taking place throughout Memphis and the surrounding areas this year, including the Central Gardens parade, the Germantown fireworks extravaganza and the Cooper Young neighborhood parade.


Runners can enjoy the Memphis Stars and Stripes 5K hosted by the Memphis Botanic Garden on Independence Day.

Fourth of July Safety

We will stress that if you are going out to celebrate please plan ahead so that you can do so safely. There will be numerous DUI roadblocks set up across the city along with an increase in police presence.
