Horrific Marion Trucking Accident Kills 3 and Injures More

As noted in a report filed on WREG Channel 3 Memphis, a devastating accident involving a tractor-trailer on I-55 in Marion, Arkansas has left 3 people dead and more injured. The accident occurred on May 1, 2019, when an 18-wheeler struck a Ford pickup truck and pushed it into another tractor-trailer and vehicle. According to the report, an investigation is still ongoing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those involved, as well as their friends and families, during this difficult time.

This accident is a strong reminder of the devastating and life-threatening injuries a trucking accident can have on the involved parties and their families. Trucking accidents present more difficulties that normal auto accidents because of the extent of damages and nature of injuries typically associated with such collisions.  Trucking companies, and their insurance companies, are going to do everything they can to limit their financial and legal exposure following an accident. With your health and financial well-being, it is important that you contact an experienced truck accident attorney to be your voice during this difficult time.

If you or a loved one are involved in an accident with a tractor-trailer, there are certain steps you or your attorney must take as soon as possible. As we wrote in a previous blog, there are certain things you should look for when finding a truck accident lawyer.

  • If serious in nature, please seek immediate medical attention.  No matter how serious the accident, trucking company representatives will always try to limit their exposure to property damage, personal injuries, lost wages, and other related damages. With the assistance of your treating physician, documenting your injuries will help you in any potential recovery.
  • All truck drivers must keep a log as evidence of his or her routes and hours driven. Typically, these records are stored on an electronic logging device. The data stored will help your attorney determine if the truck driver had been logging too many hours which may have contributed to the accident in question. It is imperative that your attorney obtain this information, along with any speed/accident data from the onboard computer usually found on most tractor-trailers. This will all be part of the immediate investigation the attorneys at The Chiozza Law Firm will perform after a free, confidential case evaluation.

As previously noted, trucking accidents are complex, expensive to pursue, and time consuming. Having the right attorney can relieve you of a lot of stress, allowing you to take care of your personal health and family obligations.  While these cases can be expensive to pursue if medical experts or accident reconstruction experts are needed, we will pay for all expenses. You will pay The Chiozza Law Firm nothing during the pursuit of your case, as we only get paid if your case is successful.
