If you have been involved in an auto accident, victim of medical malpractice, or involved in a personal injury claim then you know the financial hardship it can place on you and your family. Having to worry about medical expenses, out-of-pocket costs and legal fees can be overwhelming. If you are pursuing a legal claim for injuries that were due to the negligence of another party then a lawyer who provides contingency fees can be a great option.
What Is A Contingency Fee?
Simply put, a contingency fee is when a lawyer agrees to handle your legal claim for a set percentage of any amount he/she obtains on the client’s behalf thru a negotiated settlement or verdict. Legal matters can sometimes be very expensive to pursue. This is an expense we do not want our clients to be burdened with, therefore we offer a straightforward contingency fee agreement. The client pays nothing upfront, nor does the client pay any related expenses necessary in litigating the legal matter. The contingency fee should be put in writing by your attorney so that there are no hidden fees. If your attorney refuses to put this amount in writing or is charging an exorbitant contingency fee, then it is best to seek counsel elsewhere.
We Have Low Fees
We have seen contingency fees from other law firms range from 33% to upwards of 50%. At The Chiozza Law Firm we do not believe in such high contingency fees. For instance, in most auto accident claims we offer a 25% contingency fee which we believe is lower than a majority of other law firms. We want our clients to know that they will be receiving the majority of settlement proceeds, not the attorney. After all, it is the client who has wrongfully suffered, therefore they should receive the majority of the money they rightfully deserve. Our in writing fee arrangement also stipulates that we pay all expenses during any ongoing legal matter and you pay nothing if we are not successful in pursuing your claim.
Choosing The Right Attorney
When choosing the right attorney for your claim, The Chiozza Law Firm recommends you speak with multiple attorneys before deciding the firm that is right for you. That is why we offer free consultations for all legal matters, no matter the type of claim. It is during your confidential free consultation that we will go over your legal rights and options and fee agreements so that all of your questions are answered. If you decide to seek alternative representation then you owe us nothing. Don’t be fooled by a law firm that is not completely transparent and upfront with you regarding his/her fee. You deserve to have experienced and honest legal representation so that you can take care of your family and work responsibilities without the unnecessary worry of what pursuing a legal claim will cost you.
